Well, its over,Thank the Goddess.... The annual Mothers and Daughters Faire Weekend has drawn to a close. Each year I have both daughters here at the same time and we go to Scarborough. My friend Sheri and her daughter go too. My 2 fight like... like... like Sisters!!! It can be a long 4 day weekend! and this year it was! Since my youngest normally goes as a fairy; a 6'3" fairy and her sister as a belly dancer, and since it was 96 degrees below zero... There were emergency costumes to make. Now Tanith has pirate wear but forgot the boots and needed a shirt for warmth. Tiffany had Nothing!! so got her into one of my skirts and chemise tops and into a bodice that I could remove the front panel from so it would kinda fit. Then had to come up with shoes for both as sandels were out. Then off to Joanns for fabric for cloaks. Luckily for me they both can semi-sew and did their own from my friend Sheris' directions. But the whining and moaning and griping..and that was just from me!!! They were worse!!!! We finally got done and made it to faire ok. The first thing I did was sit down for a show and somehow my left foot went to sleep and I didn't realize it until I stood up and put all my weight on it. Of course it buckled and I looked like a tree falling over...(if a wench falls in the forest, do her skirts still go up over her head?) I could not put weight on it and I was so lucky that Sheri's daughter Jessica was there. She is a massage therapist and went to work on it thru my boot. It was very sore and I could feel it swelling but I was at least able to walk on it all day. It took both girls to get my boot off that night and it looked like a half a baseball was stuck to the side of my foot. I really sprained it bad! The bad news is that its my left foot; the one I damaged several years back and have serious tendon problems with. Poor thing it gets such abuse!!! No spiked high heels for me!
